Onboarding Checklist
Step-by-step guide to setting up your Goldilocks account
When you first sign up for Goldilocks, you'll see an onboarding checklist to help you get started. This guide explains each step in detail.
The Onboarding Process
The onboarding checklist guides you through the essential setup tasks:
- Add Knowledge - Give your AI something to learn from
- Configure Persona - Set up how your AI communicates
- Customize Widget - Brand your chat widget
- Deploy - Add the widget to your site
Step 1: Add Knowledge
Your AI agent is only as good as the content it's trained on.
Option A: Import from Your Website
If you already have a help center or support documentation:
- Go to Train > Websites
- Enter your website URL
- Click Start Crawl
- Review and select pages to import
- Click Import Selected
Option B: Add Documents Manually
For internal documentation or content not on your website:
- Go to Train > Documents
- Click Add Document
- Enter your content
- Click Save
Option C: Upload Files
Upload existing documentation files:
- Go to Train > Documents
- Click Upload Files
- Select PDF, DOCX, or TXT files
- Files are automatically processed
Aim for at least 5-10 pieces of content covering your most common support topics before going live.
Step 2: Configure Your Persona
Personas define your AI's personality and behavior.
- Go to AI Agents > Personas
- Edit your default persona or create a new one
- Configure key settings:
- Tone - Friendly, professional, casual
- Response Length - Concise or detailed
- Escalation Behavior - When to offer human support
- Add custom instructions specific to your business
- Save your changes
Step 3: Customize Your Widget
Make the chat widget match your brand:
- Go to Widget > Look & Feel
- Set your brand colors
- Upload your logo (optional)
- Configure the greeting message
- Preview your changes
Step 4: Deploy the Widget
Add Goldilocks to your website:
- Go to Widget > Embed
- Copy the embed code
- Add it to your website before
</body> - Test by visiting your site
Completing Onboarding
Once you've completed all steps, the onboarding checklist will disappear. You can skip onboarding at any time by clicking "Skip" in the checklist panel.
Post-Onboarding Tasks
After initial setup, consider these next steps:
- Set up escalation to human support
- Configure signal tags for analytics
- Invite team members
