Our Story

Why Goldilocks exists

We run a Shopify app called CustomerHub with thousands of active merchants. For years, our support was handled by one person who knew our product inside and out.

But he was drowning. The same questions, over and over. “How do I enable the widget?” “Why isn't my page showing?” “Can I customize the colors?” Good questions, but questions we'd answered hundreds of times before.

We tried everything:

  • Other AI chatbots — They hallucinated constantly. People would get confident-sounding answers that were completely wrong. Worse than no answer at all.
  • Outsourced support — They didn't understand our product. Months of training, and they still couldn't handle anything beyond the basics.
  • More hires — Expensive. Slow to train. And they'd leave just when they got good.

Nothing worked. So we built our own solution.

Goldilocks was designed from day one to never make things up. It only answers from our actual documentation and FAQs. If it doesn't know, it says so and offers to escalate.

The result? Our L1 support tickets dropped to nearly zero. Overall support volume dropped dramatically. Our support person? Now focused on the complex issues that actually need a human.

We called it Goldilocks because it's not too basic (like simple chatbots) and not too complex (like enterprise solutions that need consultants). It's just right.

Now we're sharing it with other Shopify App Partners and SaaS teams who have the same problem we did.
